On the guest list everyone wants to be on, Mokoena’s presence elevated South African voices on the global stage at the Stella Artois ‘Let’s Do Dinner’ event in New York City.
Glamour, creativity, and culture converged in New York City on Tuesday night as Stella Artois hosted its latest edition of ‘Let’s Do Dinner’ – a global series that brings together visionaries, icons, and creators for the simple joy of sharing a meal.
This year, South Africa’s own Thapelo Mokoena took his seat at the invitation-only table, joining the likes of David Beckham and Maria Sharapova at what has been dubbed “the world’s most fascinating dinner.”

Known for his work as an actor and entrepreneur, Mokoena represented South Africa with pride – standing out not only for his role as a leading South African voice but also for the effortless style and sophistication he brought to the table. Recently appointed as an advisory board member of the African Film Finance Forum, Mokoena will attend his first summit in Nigeria next week, where global leaders will gather to explore ways to grow the African Film & TV industry into a $20 billion market.
The evening wasn’t just about fine food, but about conversations that connect cultures. Guests from across the globe exchanged ideas and stories, underscoring Stella Artois’ belief that the table is where the world truly comes together.
For Mokoena, the event was a continuation of his journey with Stella Artois, following his role as co-host of ‘Let’s Do Dinner South Africa’ in 2024 alongside actress and philanthropist Nomzamo Mbatha.
“It’s a privilege to bring a South African voice to such a global cultural table,” said Thapelo Mokoena. “To be in the company of such incredible people and to represent my country on a night like this is something I will carry with me forever.”

Added Blaire Jorgensen, Marketing Manager – Stella Artois: “At Stella Artois, we believe that dinner is more than a meal – it’s a moment of connection, joy, and cultural exchange. Bringing together icons like David Beckham, Maria Sharapova, and South Africa’s Thapelo Mokoena shows how powerful those shared moments can be. They remind us that what unites us is greater than what divides us.”
With ‘Let’s Do Dinner’, Stella Artois celebrates the timeless ritual of gathering around the table – proving once again that when food, conversation, and culture meet, life becomes truly worth more.
