The Africa Rising Music Conference (ARMC), in partnership with AlphaTheta, is gearing up for ARMC 2025 with a series of exciting pre-conference events in Kenya and Durban! These roadshows will take place ahead of the main event in Johannesburg this May and offer aspiring music creators and industry professionals valuable opportunities to learn, network, and collaborate.

Interactive DJ Workshops and Engaging Panels

The roadshows will feature interactive DJ workshops for both beginners and intermediate-level DJs. Seasoned professionals like Lelowhatsgood, Ms Party, Fundi Mbambani, DJ Shock, Tina Ardor, and Rarri will lead these sessions, sharing their expertise and techniques.

In addition to the workshops, ARMC will curate engaging panel discussions designed to connect and inspire music professionals. These panels will offer insightful discussions on various topics relevant to the African music industry, empowering emerging talent and fostering innovation across the continent.

Kenya: A Celebration of Afro-House and Electronic Sounds

The first stop on the roadshow is Nairobi, Kenya, from February 18th to 21st. This leg of the event is co-hosted by Kilele Summit and will feature DJ workshops led by Kenyan trailblazers Tina Ardor and DJ Shock. Expect an immersive experience blending Afro-house, electronic music, and cutting-edge industry insights through workshops and panel discussions with industry leaders like ARMC Founder Sarah Jane Nicholson.

Durban: Focus on Inclusivity and Building a Successful Brand

The Durban leg of the roadshow takes place on March 22nd and 23rd at the KUMISA Office. Partnering with KUMISA (KwaZulu-Natal United Music Industry Association), ARMC will offer workshops hosted by Bridges For Music Ambassador Fundi Mbambani. Panel discussions will focus on making the music industry more inclusive, effective branding strategies for artists in the digital age, and maximizing revenue streams. Johannesburg: Learn from South African Heavyweights

The final stop is Johannesburg in May, where the ARMC DJ Workshop series returns for its third year. This year’s lineup boasts South African heavyweights Lelowhatsgood and Ms Party, alongside rising talent Rarri. Lelowhatsgood, a Boiler Room alumnus, will share his knowledge and passion for DJing, while Ms Party, a pioneer in South Africa’s queer DJ scene, will guide participants in developing their unique style and breaking down barriers.
