Ocean Basket is expanding its Durban footprint with the launch of its newest restaurant, bringing its much-loved seafood experience to La Lucia. Located in La Lucia Ridge in Saxony Ilala Centre, the new store officially opened its doors on 8 August 2025.
Ocean Basket has reopened in N1 City Mall after four years away. The beloved seafood spot is back in its original location, serving fresh flavours, generous portions, and a warm welcome home.
To celebrate the occasion, Ocean Basket hosted an exclusive cocktail party that welcomed select media, local influencers, and special guests for a sneak peek of the new space. Guests enjoyed a spread of seafood canapés and signature Ocean Basket sushi, paired with wines from its official wine partner, Van Loveren. The evening offered a flavourful preview of what diners can expect, along with plenty of picture-perfect moments.
