Africa Now Radio Closes 2025 with a Powerful Year-End Spotlight on the Artists, Anthems & Moments That Defined African Music

Africa Now caps off the year with its Best of 2025 episode and cover, spotlighting standout moments from the radio show, the biggest songs of the year, and six African artists who took the continent to new heights. Asake enjoyed another exceptional year, claiming the #1 most-streamed track in Nigeria with “Why Love.” FOLA emerged as the breakout act of the year, delivering multiple hit singles and collaborations that signal his rise as the next Nigerian superstar.

Black Sherif once again represented Ghana in dominant fashion, with tracks from his album IRON BOY occupying all top 10 spots on the Ghana Top 100 Songs of 2025. Marioo also had a strong year, releasing five singles that culminated in The Godson (Deluxe) and producing the hit “Nairobi.” From South Africa, Platoon act Zee Nxumalo stood out with her tracks “Mamma” & “Ngisakuthanda” and a run of notable collaborations, alongside MaWhoo, who teamed up with JAZZWRLD to deliver the massive “Bengicela.”
