One year after its release and a SAMA win, Langa Mavuso and Stella Artois expand his album beyond music into an evolving world of performance, fashion, design and storytelling.
Award-winning singer-songwriter and performer Langa Mavuso, together with Stella Artois, brought Therapy: The Other Side to life on Friday through an intimate, one-night-only curated experience at the Kumalo Turpin Gallery, Nine Yards, Johannesburg. The experience offered a first glimpse of how the award-winning album is being transformed for the stage.

The experience follows a defining year in which Mavuso earned his first SAMA for Best Produced Album for Therapy, while Dangerous secured a Metro FM Music Award nomination. With the release of his September single I Choose You leading into the forthcoming Therapy: The Other Side (Deluxe), the momentum around the body of work continues.
Inside the gallery, the 120-person audience experienced the music at close range, as familiar songs took on new scale and texture through live performance and Mavuso’s personal storytelling. Fashion and design shaped the visual language of the room, while considered hospitality, from the flow of the evening to Stella Artois’ Perfect Serve, added to the sense of intention behind every detail. Together, these elements transformed an album rooted in grief, healing and identity into something guests could not only hear, but see, feel and experience in an entirely new way.

For Mavuso, the evening carried particular resonance. Therapy: The Other Side began as an intensely personal exploration, but a year of critical recognition and audience connection has changed what the songs hold, allowing him to return to them from the other side of that journey and explore what they could become next.
Stella Artois’ role was expressed through the evening itself. The brand created an environment for the work to be experienced with care, pairing thoughtful hospitality and the ritual of the Perfect Serve with a setting designed to keep the music at the centre of the night.

What began as an album is now becoming a distinct live experience, shaped by everything the music has come to mean to Mavuso and the people who have lived with it. The Curated Experience marked the beginning of a wider journey that will take Therapy: The Other Side to audiences beyond the room.
The next chapter of Therapy: The Other Side now belongs to the stage.
