The Ticketpro Dome, well known as the event venue located in Johannesburg,has been sold by the owners and will close its doors on 7 September.
Over the years, the venue has played host to top international music artists such as Diana Ross,
Pink, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Lauren Hill, Pharrell Williams, Celine Dion and Michael Buble.The venue also become so popular as “FillUpTheDome” after Cassper Nyovest become the first local artist to sell out the Dome . Who can forget the NBA Africa Games were held at the Dome and WWE International and Disney on Ice.
The ban on public gatherings, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, has meant that during 2020 and now 2021, the Ticketpro Dome has been unable to operate.This is according to the statement statement released on Monday afternoon, by RX Venue Management . A company that has been a management company over the past 20 years since the opening of The Dome in 1998.
The dome will be remembered as an iconic venue across the events, exhibitions, and entertainment sectors and now is goodbye “The Dome”…what’s your fondest memories of The Dome?
