RiSA Mourns the Death of Malome Vector

The Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) notes with deep sadness, the passing of Lesotho-born hitmaker and previous SAMA winner, Bokang Moleli fondly known as Malome Vector, a multi-platinum-selling artist. 

He perished along with fellow musician Lizwi Wokuqala and music director Da Mos.

The 32 year-old, became popular in the South African Afro-pop and hip-hop scene. Vector’s musical career began at the age of 14 in 2004, as a school choir participant prior to competing on talent shows.

In 2021, Vector received the SAMA award for Best Music Video for his song Price To Pay in collaboration with Miss Pru and Blaq Diamond.

Vector gained fame for his popular songs like Dumelang and Nobody launching him to stardom after he was discovered by Ambitiouz Entertainment in 2020.

He started his own record label in 2023 – The Whole Time Entertainment. He later secured a distribution deal with Ingrooves Africa (Electromode), a top global music distributor.

RiSA CEO, Nhlanhla Sibisi, expressed a message of condolences: “The passing away of Malome Vector is devasting and a great loss. On behalf of the board of RiSA, our staff members and affiliates, we extend our heartfelt condolences and thoughts of sympathy to the Moleli family and relatives, friends, collaborators and fans.”

“His stage presence and charisma, stand as a footprint for other artists to follow. He played his part in taking rap music to greater heights. This is an incalculable loss. South Africa’s music industry has lost one of its greatest sons. Robala ka Khotso.”
