Lebo M, Grammy Award-winning and Oscar-nominated music producer, internationally recognised for his work on Disney’s The Lion King franchise and World Cup ceremonies, proudly presents the African Icons Tribute Concert in honour of Joseph Shabalala, founder of Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
“Joseph Shabalala is a world-class iconic superstar worthy of the privilege we have to honour on Heritage Day,” says Lebo M, highlighting the significance of this special tribute.
The excitement for the African Icons Tribute Concert began earlier with a successful media launch on Saturday, which included the exclusive premiere of Nkosinathi Shabalala’s highly anticipated music video, Imisebenzi, at Nu Metro Cinemas in Ballito Junction Mall. The launch drew notable media personalities, influencers, and key industry figures, setting the stage for an unforgettable Heritage Day celebration and showcasing Nkosinathi Shabalala’s talent as he honors his father’s legacy, Joseph Shabalala.
In celebration of Heritage Day, this event invites the public to join in honoring one of South Africa’s most iconic musical figures. The concert promises a night of world-class performances, cultural storytelling, and a celebration of South African musical heritage.
