Synthesis brings together an eclectic line-up of artists for an evening that moves across electronic, folk, punk, prog-rock and neo-soul influences.
Singer-songwriter Maria Mombelli creates soft, moody electronic music. Drawing on her classical piano training, she blends melodic piano lines with haunting vocals, layering rich synth textures live to create an immersive electronic performance experience.
Joining her is vocalist and guitarist Geoffrey Diver, whose original music is influenced by a wide range of styles, including prog-rock, neo-soul, noise art and various folk music forms. Diver’s enchanting live-looping performances are rich with catchy grooves, soaring vocals and atmospheric textures.
Klumbsy Oxx performs on handmade DIY instruments alongside special guest Richard Bruynson on slide guitar. Together, they drift through an eclectic blend of experimental, folk and punk, exploring existential truths, surreal landscapes and journeys to the other side in a raw and immersive live performance.

Sunday brings a very different musical experience with Nostalgic Reflections, featuring rising South African baritone Luthando Madikizela, whose rich voice and captivating stage presence have earned him recognition in the country’s classical and opera music scene.
Originally from Bizana in the Eastern Cape, Luthando’s musical journey began in school choirs and vocal competitions before continuing through university. He has since refined his artistry under the guidance of renowned vocal coach Mhlaba Buthelezi of Tshwane University of Technology.
His career highlights include performing alongside internationally acclaimed soprano Pumeza Matshikiza, placing second in the African Composition category of the Amazwi Omzansi competition, and producing his own concerts at venues including the Roodepoort Theatre, State Theatre and Tropical Nites Theatre.
In 2026, Luthando achieved a major career milestone with his opera debut as Gcina in Nkoli The Vague, following a successful audition process. The production premiered at the University of Johannesburg before touring to the theatre festival in Chemnitz, Germany, further establishing him as one of South Africa’s exciting emerging opera talents.
Luthando will be accompanied by acclaimed pianist Paul Ferreira, whose artistry and sensitive musicianship provide the perfect partnership for this special performance.
