On the night of the 03 March 2018, The Sand in Sandton played a host to African
creatives. Music lovers and fashion followers flocked in to the city of lights as it
came alive with Cultural Revolution as the build up to One Source Live festival took
place.
As always Guy-Gal Conner was on the VIP list, and everything was on fire.
During the event while sipping Absolut and enjoying live music by rapper and
poet Sho Madjozi, and Motswako originator Khuli Chana, Guy-Gal Conner had a
chance to rub the shoulders and take amaselfies with television and radio
presenter King Love aka LootLove, TV presenter and actor Lungile
Radu,actor and rapper SugerSmash and many more other local celebrities.
The African Art Intervention is part of Absolut One Source Live, a festival of
African creativity that will take place in Johannesburg on the 24th March 2018. Led by five creative revolutionaries, Absolut One Source Live will be an all-day collaborative
celebration of contemporary music, art, fashion design and food. Headlining are
Absolut One Source Live creative revolutionaries: Khuli Chana (South Africa)
alongside Sho Madjozi (South Africa), Trevor Stuurman (South Africa) Fabrice
Monteiro (Senegal), and Osborne Macharia (Kenya).
The exciting news is that after 12-years apart the legendary kwaito group, Bongo
Muffin, will make their historic reunion and join the African Creative
Revolution. Led by incredible singer-song writer, Thandiswa Mazwai, is said to set
the African stage on fire.
Gqom music pioneer, DJ Maphorisa and the chart topping
Nigerian reggae-dancehall star, Patoranking have also answered the call of the
movement led by Absolut ambassador and award winning rap star, Khuli Chana,
who will host the main stage at OSL.
Behind the campaign is also a call for all Africans to join the creative revolution
and change the way African creativity is represented online. This aims to replace
the dominance of curio images with a true reflection of African creativity with
