After the resounding success of the 2023 Mahika Mahikeng Music Festival, the North West Department of Arts, Culture, Sports, and Recreation is thrilled to announce its return for its seventh installment. This year’s festival will take place from the 5th to the 8th of December at the iconic Mmabatho Stadium.
Last year, over 41,000 music enthusiasts flocked to Mmabatho Stadium to experience the magic of Mahika Mahikeng. This year, the festival aims to surpass expectations and deliver an unforgettable experience. Beyond the music, attendees can indulge in a variety of art and culinary delights.
The 2024 Mahika Mahikeng festival boasts an impressive lineup of both established and emerging artists. Music lovers can expect performances from legendary acts like Lira, Thandiswa Mazwai, Zonke, Mandisi Dyantysi, and Bongo Maffin, as well as rising stars like Khuli Chana, Fifi Cooper, and Ntate Stunna.
The festival will feature a diverse range of musical genres, from gospel and amapiano to comedy and jazz. Each day promises a unique experience, with something for everyone.
- Day 1 (December 5th): A soulful start with a gospel concert featuring Bucy Radebe, Omega Khunou, David The King, and Thaba Ya Sione.
- Day 2 (December 6th): Get ready to groove to the beats of amapiano with Khuli Chana, DJ Tira, Fifi Cooper, Ntate Stunna, and more.
- Day 3 (December 7th): Laugh out loud with Mzansi’s funniest comedians, including Kay Bhazika, Karabo Selawu, Salesman, Tshekedi Monyemore, Blaqu Jzus, and Ronie Modimole.
- Day 4 (December 8th): The grand finale will feature a stellar lineup of South African music legends, including Lira, Zonke, Mafikizolo, Phat K, Mandisi Dyantysi, Mi Casa, Unathi, Bongo Maffin, Vusi Nova, and more.
