This first of it’s kind in SA, CAPSULE FEST is a street culture festival that aims to be the Mecca for all urban culture brands, artists, designers, influencers, consumers and stakeholders. The objective of the event is to offer a credible platform that celebrates SA street culture in all its forms.

Taking place on Saturday, 16th September 2017 at the Mary Fitzgerald Square in Johannesburg, the fest will host a music concert among an array of street culture activities including the following:

  • Charity Celebrity Basketball Tournament
  • Skate park
  • Brand pop-up stores
  • Art installations
  • Customizing booths
  • Beer garden and Food village
  • Gaming area
  • VIP deck

The concert which is the biggest attraction of the FEST will be supported by a myriad of over 30 local artists and DJs. With two music stages: the MAIN STAGE for the big name acts and the WAVESXV stage for up and coming indie acts and DJs. Confirmed headliners are SA’s own Nasty C alongside A$AP Mob’s member A$AP Ferg. They will be supported by the likes of Sho Madjozi, DJ Speedsta, Da Les, Gemini Major and Yanga.

Full lineup to be announced closer to the fest date.

The street culture scene in SA has never been this big and impactful, yet the industry lacks a safe and family friendly event that brings all these street culture elements together in one place”, says Sportscene’s Head of Marketing Jonathan Muir. “We believe the Capsule Fest offers the market just that and hence we’re super excited to host the first of what will hopefully be many editions to come’.

Sun City Super bowl in the North-West Province, in BokoniBohirima , on Saturday ( 27th May 2017) was the venue of choice, on the music industry calendar, The 23rd  annual South African Music Awards   especially after coming back home.Last year the Samas were held in KZN.18767686_10155348513628430_4637242223860800717_n

I was there to witness as most of our local stars turn heads on the awards famous red-carpet, but as always there were few who got it wrong and there were also those who knew exactly how to grab camera’s attention with either their outstanding outfits or should i say seeking attention with God knows some ridiculous things  .

The star studded award show hosted by television and radio personalities. Somizi Mhlongo aka Somgaga’s ridiculously bold and crazy electrifying presenting skill and his co-host comedian extraordinaire Tumi Morake’s witty words, were the perfect collaboration for many elements of drama and entertainment of the evening. They kept everyone entertained, however they were not the only highlights of the night, rapper Kwesta left with an armload of SAMA statuettes the same evening.18699788_1766922303547254_4937961522723652796_n
