In between the two jobs he managed to hustle his way into the local Durban music scene, linking up with local musicians and music makers and quickly making a name for himself.
When I first met this multi award winning and platinum selling (2015) breakout singer-songwriter and producer was in July during the South African Music Awards nomination ceremony.I had the privilege to do one on one interview with him. During our conversation he told me that he wants to make the world dance and he told me his first language is Music ,i didn’t really get him until now.
Tresor now the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) winner has recently received his second number 1 selling Dance song in Italy iTunes for his hit single Never Let Me Go (Spade Remix).
By far Tresor is the only African-based artist to not only receive a number 1 selling dance song in Italy iTunes, but to achieve this feat twice.
“It’s such an incredible feeling to see the music being appreciated in different corners of the globe. As a pioneer of African pop music, reaching number 1 is a sign that we are on the right path taking the new sound moulded in Africa to the world. We are just getting started. The mission is to make the whole world dance!”.
