Solomzi introduces Velaphi into the world of cable theft.
After enduring relationship troubles and academic disappointment, Velaphi made the difficult decision to not go back to school after failing his matric, much to the dismay of his family.
Pressured by Nomsa and Thenjiwe, Velaphi found himself working without pay in the family businesses as a form of punishment for his choice.
Feeling lost and vulnerable, Velaphi’s newfound uncle Solomzi, recognizing his nephew’s need for money, persuades him to join a life of crime. Together, they engage in stealing cables in Es’hlahleni, a dangerous and illegal activity.
However, their criminal endeavours take a perilous turn when Solomzi fails to show up for a job, leaving Velaphi to attempt the theft alone. Inexperienced and unprepared, Velaphi suffers a severe electric shock during the theft attempt, leading to a violent confrontation with outraged community members who hold him accountable for the damage caused to their neighbourhood.
The question on everyone’s mind: Will Velaphi survive the harsh reality of “street justice”?
Watch #IsithaTheEnemy on the 26th of February to follow Velaphi’s journey and discover the fate that awaits him.
