Joyce’s Gomora’s Story…Love Lived Here.

Joyce Gomora (Gugu Gumede) projects couple and family goals to a throng of loyal social media followers. She’s devoted herself fully to her husband and family, building a life that appears as pristine and carefully curated as her signature all-white wardrobe.

The Polygamist, Netflix’s new 22-episode supernovela debuting on 12 June, tracks a woman wounded by the unravelling of the life and marriage she once believed were unshakable, as her husband Jonasi Gomora’s (Sdumo Mtshali) indiscretions and betrayal can no longer be contained by money, power and secrecy.

Gugu Gumede delivers a gripping performance as Joyce Gomora, a woman confronting the unravelling of her marriage and family, while Noluthando Shabalala brings fierce emotional depth to Mpume, Joyce’s daughter caught in the family fallout.

As the cracks in her marriage deepen, Joyce becomes desperate to save not only her relationship, but the version of family and stability she has spent years building and defending. In her attempts to keep Jonasi faithful, she pulls everyone around her deeper into the tension of a home struggling to hold itself together, while her children, played by rising stars Wonder Ndlovu and Noluthando Shabalala, are forced to confront the emotional fallout.

But every marriage has two sides. Part 2: Jonasi Gomora’s story is loading…
