Makhadzi will headline the Road2 One Woman Show at Centre Court, Emperors Palace, in Kempton Park on Sunday, 29 November 2026. Presented by Makhadzi Entertainment and organised with Thikho Events Management, the concert brings the One Woman Show to Gauteng ahead of Makhadzi’s Christmas Eve stadium performance in Polokwane.
Richard M. Ramudzuli, founder and managing director of Thikho Events Management, said the concert gives the organisers room to build an evening around different periods of Makhadzi’s career.
“Some people in that room will remember where they were when they first heard ‘Matorokisi’. Others might have discovered Makhadzi through Sesi Ka Rose. When you build a show around one artist’s catalogue, you get to hear how the music they came in with fits into a bigger story,” Ramudzuli said.
The One Woman Show began in Botswana in 2022. Makhadzi brought it to Peter Mokaba Stadium in 2024, where she shared the stage with artists including Sho Madjozi, DJ Tira and Nkosazana Daughter. That year, she also won the BET Viewers’ Choice Award for Best New International Act. Speaking to The Citizen ahead of the Polokwane concert, she recalled how drawing a stadium audience in Botswana, where many fans did not speak Tshivenda, made her want to stage the show at home in Limpopo.
“I sing in Tshivenda because it’s the language I grew up speaking and the language I reach for when I want to tell a story,” Makhadzi said. “One of my favourite things about performing away from home is hearing people sing those words back to me. Then you go back to Limpopo and hear a stadium sing with you in the language you grew up with. Those are two different feelings, and I get to experience both on this road to Polokwane.”
The next stop is Peter Mokaba Stadium on 24 December, where the One Woman Show will double as Makhadzi’s 30th birthday celebration. It brings her back to the venue that hosted the show’s first South African edition and to the province where she built her early following.
“The Sunday start matters to how we’ve planned the day. Doors open at four and the show starts at five, so people can come through in the late afternoon. We wanted Gauteng audiences to have a date of their own before the Christmas Eve show in Polokwane,” Ramudzuli said.
Makhadzi will also release her new album on Friday, 27 November, two days before the Emperors Palace concert. Makhadzi Entertainment moved the release from 13 to 27 November. The new record follows Sesi Ka Rose, which won Best Traditional Music Album at this year’s South African Music Awards, and adds to a catalogue that includes “Matorokisi” and “Ghanama”.
“When I put out an album, I’m always curious about which song people will make their own,” said Makhadzi. “Sometimes it’s the one you expect. Sometimes someone tells you about a song you weren’t even thinking of as a single. The album comes out on Friday and by Sunday I’ll be in a room with people who’ve had a chance to listen. I’m looking forward to hearing what they’ve picked up.”
The Road2 One Woman Show takes place at Centre Court, Emperors Palace, 64 Jones Road, Kempton Park. The event poster lists tickets from R250 through Webtickets and also directs audiences to www.thikhoevents.com.
