I cannot think of any better way that I could have spent my last days of winter than the way i did at the largest culinary show in South Africa. Judging from crazy hours of foodie entertainment and how fully packed the Ticketpro Dome was,It clearly confirm that The Good Food & Wine Show 2017 | Jo’Burg has become crowd’s favorite.
The order of the three day culinary for any foodie and wine lovers who attended was all about taking the perfect picture for their social media using the #GFWS2017 while enjoying the impressive selection of wines alongside range of food .Networking with other foodies and the best of international and national chefs who step up to the stoves to present demonstrations, talks and workshops was also the center of the show.
My highlight was cooking up the storm with some of my favourites chefs such as the likes of Chef Lentswe Bhengu , The Gourmet Bushie , J’Something ,Jenny Morris, and Neill Anthony
My friends knows how much i love wine and how much i want to learn about its etiquette, so i joined sommelier Gregory Mutambe and Sally Williams Fine Foods in the Wine Pairing Theatre for a bubbly and nougat pairing that left my taste buds tingling!
From French cheese to artisanal gin, the Ticketpro Dome was filled with the widest variety of inviting exhibitors. The show was not only for the foodie and wine lovers ,but it accommodated all people from walks of lives to create a more focused and interactive, experience. One would say a way to talk about food and wine from different angles as well.
If you have never been to such event before and you wonder ,do people actually leave their homes in such cold winter just to go and taste wine?Well, the event is so much more than just dining and wining ,it a family, friends, couple get away and it consist of the following :
-

And as if that wasnt enough ask any beer lover and they will say it out loud that….
“every hour at the The Good Food & Wine Show 2017 | Jo’Burg wass gin o’clock”.
The ultimate gin tasting experience was made more memorable because of the incredible Cape Town Gin, Ginologist, Ginifer, Westcliff Gin, Malfy Gin SA, Flowstone African Bush Botanicals Gin and Truman & Orange.
I’m definitely attending another one next year and i’m taking my family and my buddies so they too can also have such life experience .Now i understand why wine lovers swirl, nose, taste and next time when my family host family gathering,i’m definitely going to teach them how to pair their food with their wines. @goodfoodSA @JennyMorrisChef
