Kwesta Scoops The MTV Base Hottest MC Title For 2018.

Multiple award-winning rapper, Kwesta, did it again. The Vur Vai hitmaker was hailed the leading artist on MTV base Hottest MC 2018 last night on the hour-long annual panel discussion show. His win is seen as a credit to Mzansi’s hip-hop industry becoming a powerful and influential force in SA’s mainstream music.

Hosted by your MTV Base VJ, Sandile GQ, the fifth instalment of the show was packed with drama and heated debates, all in the name of celebrating Mzansi’s hip-hop culture. Kwesta won the hearts and views of the panel made up of Ms. Cosmo, Spoken Priestess, Zai Maya, DJ Capital, Kyeezi, and Scoop Makhathini who revised the list based on criteria that analysed the musicians’ bars and lyrics, impact, sales, buzz and intangibles.

This year’s list saw an inclusion of three leading female MC’s making the cut including Rouge, Moozlie and Nadia Nakai. Rappers AKA and Nasty C took the second and third spots respectively while the list also featured musical acts such as Anatii, Cassper Nyovest, Shane Eagle and Riky Rick.
