An award winning sophisticated Scottish Leader together with the new Azzaro Wanted cologne, an audacious and flamboyant fragrance,recently hosted a treat for whisky lovers and for those with distinctive smell at the famous Davinci hotel,in Sadton .And i had time of my life…
At our entrance to the Maxim Lounge ,we were welcomed with a glass of whisky and could not help it but notice bottles in all shapes, sizes, colours, and ages which would water the mouth of any whisky enthusiast. The set up was so inviting and atmospheric with the shiny wooden floors and black casing on each wall that was fronted with huge panels of glass. Behind the glass were it was written “Whisky Keeps,Keep Walking” were hundreds of bottle an array of colours – glowing under the soft light.
For anyone who wants to smell good or desire to leave a signature smell behind every time he or she passes by Azzarro wanted perfume tasting was just a perfect master classes.With his outstanding presentation charismatic Tshego from Azzaro gave tips on how to apply cologne on the body the correct way. He further explained various types of cologne and how to apply them throughout the day to have that signature smell.
Witty words ,he made us laugh reminded us how perfume is an element of seduction and share secret on how to seduce someone you have been crushing with just your signature smell without saying a word. Everyone in the room was having a jol,while being entertained and educated.
In his short words he describes Azzarro wanted as a tribute to a new free and flamboyant kind of masculinity, a woody, citrus, spicy eau de toilette with a captivating and elegant trail.
The Scottish Leader speaker got everyone nosing like an expert as we compared three contrasting malts to discern their unique characteristics.Our learning began with a brief history of Whisky, types of whiskys,from its early beginnings straight through to the modern day and what the future holds for the Scottish Whisky industry.
This was most definitely an entry-level for all new whiskey drinkers like myself looking to explore the different ways that one can enjoy the drink and Mixam lounge was just a perfect place to be.
My second favorite part of the evening was dining and winning with high profile people from different professional field while learning so much about whisky and food pairing.
For my starter I had Melange sea food, cooked in a cardamom and saffron cream paired with Scottish Leader 12 year
For my main course I indulged in Norwegian salmon,topped with lemon and dill crust served with bruniose vegetable’s,asparagus spears and sea food broth paired with Bunnahabain 12year ,the nose reminded me of my grandfather’s house on Sundays after evening meal sitting on the stoep eating custard and pudding,while he …The taste was smooth,well balanced and fresh .The finish was short to medium in length but again balanced.
i have a huge sweet-tooth so learning wich whisky to pair with my mouthwatering desert was just cherry on top
i was even privileged enough to be sitting next to one of the well respected business woman,Edith Vender , who seems to had a wonderful evening …we even took a selfie.

I also met the lady who invited me to come and have a taste of the good life…
