On 17 September 2019, South Africa’s premium flavoured beer , Flying Fish hosted its first ever Live ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) experience in the country.
Who better than singer-songwriter sensation Rowlene Bosman to demonstrate what Flying Fish sounds like and to give south Africans first experience. Rowelen’s ASMR performance was amplified with the use of head phones which were handed to all exclusive guests, media personalities and inluencers .
The ASMR Live event was hosted by the handsome model, Tino Chinyani and attended by media, bloggers, creatives and cultural curators who are all challenging convention in their various spheres.
Rowelene ASMR eating frozen ice cubes, crunch of a chilled green apple, a bite of sweet honeycomb, the clink of ice in a frosty glass , the twist of a flying fish bottle cap, the long, slow, audible gulp of a refreshing Flying Fish and satisfying refreshments sounds of poring flying fish in a glass, stole the audience attention, evoked tones of laughter, excitement and provoked a tingling sensation down the back of the neck .
Flying Fish Marketing Manager Colleen Duvenage says: “Flying Fish has built its brand on flavourful experiences and this is no different. We have tapped into the overwhelming international popularity of ASMR to encourage South Africans to explore the crisp refreshment and fresh flavour of Flying Fish with all of their senses. We are taking the enjoyment of Flying Fish one step further by engaging in both the sounds and feelings which our refreshing liquid evokes.”
International audiences have embraced this love affair with sound, as evidenced by the countless ASMR YouTube videos, which are used to relieve stress and promote a certain joie de vivre.
