South African fashion designer Harry Lekwane has unveiled media personality Romley Lishiba as the new fashion catalyst for his couture label, HL Creations, during a striking black-carpet appearance at SA Fashion Week.
Limpopo talent took centre stage at this year’s SA Fashion Week as designer Harry Lekwane, founder of HL Creations, introduced prominent media personality Romley Lishiba as the brand’s new fashion catalyst.

The announcement came as Lekwane and Lishiba arrived at the fashion event alongside acclaimed actress Makoma “Komie” Mohale. The trio made a statement on the black carpet, showcasing striking HL Creations designs while celebrating their shared Limpopo roots.
Dressed head-to-toe in the label’s creations, the three personalities stood out in looks defined by sharp silhouettes, rich textures and refined detailing. Their appearance went beyond fashion, highlighting the growing visibility of Limpopo creatives across South Africa’s fashion and entertainment industries.
Speaking about his appointment, Lishiba expressed excitement about joining the brand, describing the partnership as a meaningful connection to his roots and the story behind Lekwane’s designs.
“Joining HL Creations feels like coming home,” Lishiba shared, highlighting the designer’s ability to bring the soul of Limpopo into contemporary fashion. He also reflected on the experience of sharing the black carpet with Lekwane and Mohale, describing it as a moment of pride for the province.
As a fashion catalyst, Lishiba brings his media and industry experience to the label, with the partnership positioned to strengthen the brand’s visibility and create memorable fashion moments.

Actress Makoma “Komie” Mohale, who hails from Mokopane, also celebrated the moment and the representation of Limpopo talent on a major fashion platform.
Known for her roles in Scandal! and as the Rain Queen in Queen Modjadji, Mohale expressed pride in standing alongside fellow creatives from her home province.
“There’s nothing like standing with your people and showing the world what Limpopo can do,” she said, praising the unity, talent and style represented by the trio.
Their appearance reflected the importance of celebrating homegrown talent and creating opportunities for creatives to showcase their work on prominent industry platforms.
Founded by Limpopo-born designer Harry Lekwane and now based in Pretoria, HL Creations has developed a reputation for high-impact couture that blends African sensibilities with contemporary sophistication.
Lekwane’s journey from Limpopo to Pretoria reflects the experiences of creatives who carry their heritage into new spaces while remaining connected to their origins.
With Lishiba joining the brand, HL Creations enters a new chapter focused on strengthening its presence through fashion, storytelling and cultural visibility.
The trio’s appearance at SA Fashion Week served as a reminder that South Africa’s provinces continue to produce designers, entertainers and influential personalities deserving of recognition on the country’s biggest stages.
With this new partnership, HL Creations looks set to continue celebrating African-inspired design while placing Limpopo talent firmly in the spotlight.
