On the 28November I attended the #SANSUISUMMERCUP event which attracted revellers and betting enthusiasts to Turffontein in Jozi where fashion , food and drinks were priorities of the day.

The Gauteng racing season was in full swing! Thousands of punters and party-seekers, foodies and fashionistas braved the chilly weather and lil of drizzling rain to enjoy one of Africa’s Greatest Horseracing Event.


This was a perfect platform to network and Aside from socialising there’s some great entertainment to see you through the evening, the hiphop elite headlining the Sound Experience stage includes the award-winning Kwesta, Major League DJ’s, new school rapper Yanga and Nadia Nakia the first lady. House duo DJ sensation Twins on Decks alongside many more will also feature on the lineup.
The Sansui Summer Cup, previously known as the Johannesburg Handicap first took place in 1887, as travellers from far and wide came to the Witwatersrand area in search of gold. The exciting event sprang into life on a dusty farm called Turfontein. Over the coming years however the races name, conditions and date changed a multitude of times which diminished its popularity.
