Mix it up next time you go out. No need to mingle to have some fun
Jameson Irish Whiskey recently made a statement by putting a face mask on three of their Jameson billboards in Johannesburg, at Braamfontein (60 Juta), Melrose Arch and on the corner of Witkoppen & Main in Fourways. It’s part of the brands Mix, don’t Mingle campaign which puts responsible behaviour centre stage.
Jameson encourages consumers and the public in general to not get complacent and keep wearing their masks. Here are some easy-to-mix drinks that offer the whiskey drinker insight into the versatility of the various Jameson expressions that can be ordered when out or be made at home.

Hot toddy

History is a little blurry on the exact origin of the ‘hot toddy’, some suggest that it was invented in Scotland in the 18th century, more likely though, ‘toddy’ was derived from the Hindi word ‘tārī’ which was a drink (served cold) made from the sap of the toddy palm.
What we do know is that somewhere along the line it made its way to the British Isles and evolved into a hot drink with a base of water, spirit and spice. This particular blend could help invigorate blood flow (through the cinnamon), while ginger stimulates the circulation (which could help aid digestion).
Ingredients:
60ml Jameson Select Reserve
120ml hot water
1tsp finely-chopped ginger
2 cinnamon sticks
2 cloves
1 lemon wedge
1tsp honey
Method
Pour the Jameson Select Reserve into a mug. Add the honey. Pour in the hot water over the spoon you used for the honey to get off the last little drops (traditionally this was done to prevent the glass serving mug from cracking). Squeeze the lemon wedge and drop the wedge into the mug. Let the mixture steep for 5 minutes.
