Who would have thought I would ever find myself eating crocodile meat? If somebody had told me that “Taste of Jo’burg” was about Jozi’s hottest chefs selected from Jozi’s coolest restaurants and their signature dishes, i would have starved myself to prepare my stomach for the wining and dining that awaited me.
On the 24th September thousands of people from all walks of life attended the “Taste of Joburg” event. Although I only went on the second day,I would definitely say I did not miss much as I indulged until I dropped.
This past Thursday marked my first time attending the “Taste of Joburg” since its inception eight years ago. I must admit that it is true that food unites people and makes them one. During the four event, people sip and shop their way around the festival. There were several international restaurants which created special menus of starter size-plates, including their signature dishes designed to reflect their individual philosophies, whilst showcasing seasonal premium ingredients.
When I attended, little did I know that I would learn so much and becime a “foodie”! I learnt about different types of wine and champagnes and the selective food that goes well with each. I also learnt the various types of avocados, and mostly, how one can do so much with avocados to create a perfect and affordable meal. What i enjoyed most was anything and everything that sweet and chillie and tantalising to my taste buds
