More than thirty three thousands Grade 12 learners,in the 383 schools across the North West province have recently signed a pledge committing to uphold the examinations code of conduct during their 2015 National Senior Certificate (NSC) matric examinations which start on 26 October to 27 November 2015.
The Grade 12 pledge signing ceremonies were held in all schools across the country on Friday, 16 October 2015. The North West province deployed the Middle and Senior management officials to all schools to oversee and monitor the pledge signing proceedings.
During the signing of the pledge, departmental stakeholders such as parents, School Governing Bodies, South African Police Service, National Interface Council of South Africa (NICSA), Traditional Leaders and Non-Governmental Organisations came in numbers to bear witness to the commitment taken by the Grade 12 learners.
The North West Education and Sport Development MEC, Maphefo Matsemela also joined thousands of the Grade 12 learners across the province by visiting Motswedi Secondary School and rendered words of encouragement.
“Next year you will be starting a new race of your life. You are the architects of your life. As the department, we have assisted you in your journey to reach for your dreams, now it is in your hands to make it possible. We want to see you after completing your studies ploughing back to your communities. I wish you good luck in your examinations”, said MEC Matsemela.
Kguthatso Modungwa (17) of Motswedi Secondary School said his secret is a being part of a study group and he uses previous year’s question papers to revise. He said, he will uphold the examinations code of conduct and he will never cheat during the exams. He says he endeavours to pursue pharmaceutical studies and to be a Pharmacist after completing his tertiary studies.
Tlamelo Moletsane (20) who also from Motswedi Secondary School said he burns the mid-night oil when studying and wakes up early in the morning to prepare himself for the examinations. He also added that he uses previous year’s question papers because they provide him with different styles of posing questions.
The North West Education and Sport Development wishes the 2015 Class and all learners of the province good luck in their final examinations.
