The best thing about being a foodie is that you don’t just got invited to eat for free, spent countless hours in the kitchen, read so much about various antiques, but you also meet new people of same interest and you never stop learning . I recently hooked with bubbly interesting bloggers from Cape Town. Besides spending hours talking about food and bosting to each other about our culinary skills and knowledge, we spent the entire International Sushi Day at sushi tasting at one of the Chinese restaurants.
You can just imagine how many sushi(s) I had, I mean everything was for free, except for the wines. A big part of being a Foodie is not just knowing how to get food into your mouth but how the food tastes like, smells, looks , feels , and sounds while eating.
To me eating sushi was like eating something from another planet .As I was busy trying to eat everything from the menu, my British friends kept on laughing at me. To them, sushi is like eating chicken. They told me that Sushi has rapidly become one of the most popular lunch and dinner choices around, especially in the UK where it has become a perfect choice for the health conscious and those who simply don’t fancy a dull old sandwich.
During our long conversation as if we knew each other from way back, I realised that we have so much in common. We all never daunted with trying something new — even if it might be out of their comfort zone. And it’s a life lesson that translates into everyday living, encouraging new adventures and experiences.
